Common questions

How is my protein target calculated?

From your estimated lean mass (the Boer formula, using your height, weight and sex at birth), multiplied by a coefficient set by how often you do resistance training. It is deliberately not based on your scale weight — that produces targets most people on a GLP-1 appetite cannot reach.

How accurate are the photo estimates?

They are estimates, not measurements. Every line the app reads back is one tap from being corrected, and portion size is a single button. Correcting an entry teaches the app nothing about anyone else — your data stays yours.

What does "mg active" mean?

A modeled estimate of how much medication is still working in you today, from your logged dose history and your medication's published half-life. It is a model, clearly labeled as one throughout the app — never a measurement, and never a reason to change a dose.

Which medications are supported?

Zepbound, Mounjaro, Wegovy (both the injection and the pill), Ozempic, Saxenda, Rybelsus, Foundayo, and compounded formulations — injection or oral, weekly or daily. If yours is missing, email us and we will add it.

How do I cancel Plus?

Subscriptions are handled by Apple, not by us. Open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and cancel from there. You can also reach the same screen from Profile → Subscription → Manage inside the app.

Can I get my data out?

Yes, always. Profile → Export Everything writes your entire history — profile, doses, meals, measurements and symptoms — to a single readable file you can save or send anywhere.

I changed phones. Where is my history?

If iCloud was signed in on both devices, your history syncs automatically. If not, use Export Everything on the old phone before you switch.

Protein First is a tracking tool, not medical advice. Every number it shows is an estimate for orientation only. It must never be used to start, stop or change a dose. Talk to your prescriber.
